This piece is not a toy and was designed and manufactured as a historically accurate exhibit based on illustrations and archaeological findings from the time of the Roman Empire. Using this flagrum would be very dangerous and would cause serious injuries. Furthermore, no guarantee can be given for the stability of the Flagrum sufficient for actual use. For these reasons, it cannot and must not be used as a BDSM toy or as a weapon!
Roman flagrum. Designed in the style of an antique model. 5 strands of solid 4mm natural leather in vintage brown, approx. 61cm/24", of which approx. 17cm/7" is a handle made of individually dyed bamboo, finished with the finest lacquer and with a patinated bronze end cap, adorned with solid bronze beads and handcrafted, sharp-edged bone segments.
